Common Purpose

Common purpose occurs when a group, team, or community coalesces into a creative, dynamic, brave and nearly invincible we.”

Between stimulus and response, there is a space, and in that space, is our freedom that space is defined as the freedom to choose.

Humans are not a mechanical being where stimulus and response is a known constant if you push our buttons, WE decide which light turns or or even if that light turns on at all.

But each individual has to make that choice even if that choice is non action.

If freedom of choice is the primary freedom of humanity then we have the RIGHT to be informed of our choices and to define the conversation.

Any agreed upon definition, acts as common ground for successful communication.

If we  cannot agree on common definitions, communication cannot take place. If identities cannot be defined, logic is not present, and the conversation is then about nothing.

If there is a failure to communicate, it is usually because of a contradiction in identification; so mutual agreement of the definitions, will most likely remedy the situation.

 Eleanor Roosevelt stated
We have to face the fact that either all of us are going to die together or we are going to learn to live together and if we are to live together we have to talk.

I accept and welcome diversity of personal identity but condemn any divisiveness of humanity.
